Opening Remarks;
 Welcome to the 31st opening night of the McHenry Christian Fellowship Softball League.
 Lots of exciting changes this year.
1. Expanded strike zone. Zone now INCLUDES Home Plate!
2. Longer distance to pitching rubber (was 46, now 50 feet).
3. Bigger batters box.
4. Additional venue at Shamrock Park.
5. 4 new teams and 2 new assistant managers!
 Welcome new teams and managers;
1. Joyful Harvest Lutheran managed by Gary Demarchi.
2. Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran managed by Steve Brown and assistant manager Dave Johnson.
3. Willow Creek of McHenry County managed by Brian Claypool and assistant manager Mark Huntley.
4. Harvest Chapel of Crystal Lake managed by Brian and Sarah Safstrom.
 Welcome new leadership;
1. John Martin, assistant manager Alliance Bible Church. He’ll be helping manager and my good friends Kary and Reggie Olson, youth pastors at Alliance.
2. Andy Keenan, assistant manager to Faith Presbyterian. He’ll be helping manager, neighbor and friend of mine Albert Thennes.
 Tough times we are in. We want to provide a fun and family friendly escape from the pressures of our time and the current economic recession. Be mindful of this and be ready to step in and help any fellow teammates under duress/stress. Players and Fans are encouraged to read the league mission statement on the bulletin board on the backstop.
