Season 33 is Ovuh!

Another great season for the league as our new divisional alignment turned out to be a big hit! Not one complaint about it!

As I look back on season 33, there were many hilights and blessings.

The weather was near perfect, with only 1 snow-out on the opener and 1 rainout during the tournament. All around us saw some record rainfall, so we were very blessed again.

Our league reached a high water mark of 27 teams! With an average of 15 players per team, that equates to 405 people involved in our Monday evening fun!

It remains to be seen if we will retain that number next year, there are a handful of teams that are in distress, so a little contraction is not out of the question.

I will be conducting meetings with the Senior Pastors and the affected managers in January (Lord Willin') and will also reach out to some area churches that have previously expressed interest in joining the league.

In the mean time, the following re-alignments are tentative assuming no changes to the league lineup for Season 34.

Platinum Teams: Maranatha Assembly and McHenry EV Free are re-aligned to the Gold Division. Gold teams Fellowship of Faith 2, Chapel Grayslake 1 are re-aligned to the Platinum Division.

Other highlites for the season included Good Guys III and a re-vitalized league all-star game and picnic. Look for the picnic to return to Monday evening next season. The all-star day Home Run Derby had the bizarre outcome of only ONE Home Run over the fence, and this was using brand new harder core softballs with Aluminum bats! How strange indeed!

The league was also blessed with Katie Santner taking on the role of official league photographer. She has some GREAT shots posted on the league Facebook page. Check it out!

Thanks to all managers, assistant managers and everyone else involved that helped make season 33 a great success! It could not have happened without your combined efforts!

God Bless and have a GREAT Fall/Winter!
