Good Guys IV Recap

What a stellar event Good Guys IV was yesterday.  We had our biggest crowd ever with approximately 300 people attending the event.

We exceeded our goal of $3000 for FISH of McHenry Food Pantry.   This in spite of stiff competition 2 miles away at the Wallapalooza Cancer Fundraiser at the Johnsburg Community Center.

In the end, this cash donation enables FISH to purchase over $30,000 worth of food due to their tremendous buying power at the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

As for the game, it was a high scoring rock and roll game with the lead bouncing back and forth several times. In the top of the 9th, the church league led the combined Police/Fire Squad 24-20.  They rallied and tied the score and took a 27-24 run lead (by far our highest over run total for a  Good Guys game).  Capping the Police/Fire rally was a 2 run bomb by Fire Chief Tony Huemann who wound up at 3rd with a stand up triple!

In the bottom of the 9th, the church league fell short with no runs and a runner left on base.  Final score, 27-24, Good Guys Win!

We raffled off over $3000 worth of prizes during the 18 raffles.  A great time had by all and the post game concert by Elixir netted them a personal invite to play in next years Fiesta Days event at Petersen Park (they were that good!)

Thanks to one and all who were able to attend the event.

To those that missed it, maybe we'll see you there next year!
