Pastor Paul Rudy of Anchor Baptist Church (Dave Millers Team) writes a poignant e-mail that speaks for itself below. Dave forwarded this to me tonight.
Pastor Rudy has been battling cancer.

My inquiring mind wants to know;
Are you a Whosoever?

Hi Everyone,
First, I would like to thank everyone who has told us they have been praying, their church has been praying, friends have been praying for us, and sent encouraging notes to us. We truly feel upheld through this time. If I did not have confidence in the Lord, I would be a basket case.
Yesterday was a hard day - I wrote final letters to Elaine and the girls, worked on funeral information, finished up a will… seven documents that I hope remain sealed for a long time. Needless to say this has been an emotional roller coaster for all of us.
We also received news about the little boy in our church, Jacob , who went through a stem cell transplant in 2007. His cancer may be back. They have to run more tests. Pray that the tests show up negative. We are praying, Psalm 20:1 "May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you"
Tomorrow is the big day with the surgery scheduled for 9:30 am. We have to be at the hospital by 7:00 am. I am thankful for the people who will be there for Elaine and the girls - my brother, sister and mom, a couple of pastors, and several of our church men. We are humbled by the outpouring of love we have received over this past year.
Two verses that have been precious to me these past couple of days are:
Psalm 22:19
But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
God is my strength. I realize this more and more as each day goes by. He is the one who does heal… He is the one who will heal. He is my strength and my help.
Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
When we walk through that shadow of death, God is with us and comforts us so we have no fear of evil.
Just some thoughts for today.
Living by Faith… Paul
