READ CAREFULLY. NOT ALL GAMES ARE OFF!!!
McHenry Township
The Township closed the ball field complex at a little before noon. Thus, ALL Games at Township are cancelled. Managers are advised to work with one another to schedule a makeup date. We will NOT move these games to the end of the season.
Shamrock Park.
McHenry Parks and Rec. has prepped both fields and they are ready to go. Field 2 (far west) 3rd base had a softspot but the Parks dept. crew returned at noon to put turfus on that area.
Hiller Park.
Infield is playable BUT soft area by 3rd and 1st. Option 1: Move infield config up by 10ft. (So bring throw down bases.) You will still be on the infield and not have put bases in the grass. Option 2. Move over to baseball field (provided it is available). Bases are at 60ft. Infield is completely playable. Note, this is baseball field to your right as you look at them from softball field. Large field to left is Varsity baseball with 90 ft bases. Option 3, at mutual consent of both managers, treat this game as a rain out.
Wind advisory ends at 6 this evening with wind speeds at game time predicted at around 20mph. Broken clouds to the west with party sunny conditions expected by late afternoon.
Field Re-hab Notes: Hiller is to receive a dump truck full of infield dirt courtesy of the Johnsburg Pigtails. They are re-crowning the infield this week.
Terry Wagner, the new Operations Manager at the Township reports that field rehab is to begin next week on field 4. As of the moment, he believes field 4 will be open next Monday, weather permitting and will start the rehab the next day or so.
Thanks all. Wish I had better news but, no matter the month or the date, we've had rain outs in all of them.
To those playing ball tonight, have fun!
