Well, Season 34 started, sort of!

With the Township unexpectedly closing all ball fields down, we were left with a staggered start scenario. Games were played at the well groomed and readied Shamrock Fields. Hiller was also a wash, although they could have played with a slight adjustment to the infield config.

I took in the Alliance Bible vs Faith Presbyterian game and when it was over, Faith had the distinction of being the very FIRST team to log a W on Opening night since the other game featuring McHenry EV Free and St. Paul UCC was still on-going.

All in all, in spite of the weather bug rearing its head Sunday morning and dumping 3 inches of rain, the season is started!

Next Monday, Lord Willin’, we will try again to start at the Township and we will pause to honor Frank Devita and Paul Schwegel. Without having to make any adjustments, Mt. Hope is scheduled on Field 1 at 6:30 vs Willow Creek Team 2.  So, come on out at 6:15 if you can and bring your team with if you are playing later or have a bye!

Let the good times of softball roll!
